Nineteen of Daniil Medvedev's 21 victories have been earned on hardcourt
A revitalized Medvedev claimed his first trophy for over two years with a win over Corentin Moutet in the tournament title decider.
The Russian, a ex- world number one, has endured a challenging season, achieving just one match at the Grand Slams and undergoing a difficult moment at the US Open.
The player's unpredictability on the professional circuit - and difficulties with his service game in specific - resulted in him dropping out of the elite rankings and ultimately separating with former mentor Cervara.
Currently working with his coach and Goetzke, the tennis star has consistently improved in the last few weeks - peaking in a hard-fought three-set triumph over Frenchman Corentin Moutet.
This represents the player's first title following the Italian tournament and initial on a hard surface from spring of 2023.
The win also indicates Medvedev has achieved 21 titles at 21 different events.
"It's the first time I have attended a competition with my both daughters simultaneously, so to win a championship is particularly special," stated tennis professional Daniil Medvedev.
"This title is in tribute of my second daughter Victoria, because the first title I won when my older daughter my daughter was delivered was for her."
Medvedev, the 2021 US Open champion, had lost his last six finals, featuring in the German tournament previously this season.
The player's retrieving approach and recurring emotional displays on the playing surface had caused some to wonder if his ability to compete at the elite level was over.
Yet the athlete has implemented adjustments in the past month, attempting to advance forward and compete positively, reinforced by an better serve.
The champion came back from a disadvantage in the first set against the difficult Frenchman, taking 4 of the last five exchanges to gain the advantage.
The pair swapped service breaks in the middle set before the Frenchman, striving for his maiden ATP Tour victory, took control to push for a final set.
Moutet rescued 4 early break points in a competitive deciding set before the champion broke to 15 to close out the victory.
Suitably, the winner earned victory with a point at the front of the court, with the Frenchman unable to control a shot after two hours and 38 minutes.
